Hua Hin, Thailand – has been voted as 2014’s Golf Destination of the Year for Asia & Australia in the prestigious annual awards held by the global golf tourism organization, IAGTO (International Association of golf Tour Operators).
The announcement at the IAGTO Awards Gala Dinner on the final day of the International Golf Travel Market, the golf tourism industry’s annual global trade show, at the historic Tarragona Place De Tores, Tarragona, Costa Daurada, Spain particularly recognized winning golf destinations around the world including Hua Hin – the western region of Thailand where golfers can enjoy all year round at world class golf courses each with a unique designed. Hua Hin/Cha-Am Golf Association was formed by 10 of those courses in 2002, as a non-profit organization with objective of promoting golf and other activities as well as tourism in the area. “The Hua Hin/Cha-Am Golf Festival”, started by the association 12 years ago and continuously managed in cooperation with the Tourism Authority of Thailand, is an established event taking place during August and September which is now well-known by golfers both within Thailand and abroad.
